The data controller within the meaning of applicable data protection law (including GDPR) is:

2. What Data Is Processed?

Diemo only processes data that you enter yourself:

• Financial entries (amounts, categories, notes, dates)
• Budget settings and category definitions
• Savings plans and fixed expense plans
• Optionally: receipt photos (requires camera permission)

As the developer, I have no access to any of this data at any time.

3. Where Is Data Stored?

All data is stored exclusively on your iPhone (iOS Keychain, app container, UserDefaults). No data is transmitted to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary for the performance of a contract), as storing your entries is essential to providing the app's functionality. For users outside the EU, processing is based on your consent to the app's terms of use.

5. Data Retention

Your data remains on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete all data at any time:

• Within the app via Settings → Reset Data
• By uninstalling the app (permanently deletes all app data)

6. Permissions

Diemo may request the following iOS permissions when needed:

• Camera / Photos: Only for attaching receipt images; optional and revocable at any time via iOS Settings. Photos are stored locally only.
• Face ID / Touch ID: For the app lock feature; biometric data never leaves your device.

7. No Third Parties

Diemo does not use:

• Analytics or tracking services (no Firebase, Google Analytics, or similar)
• Advertising services
• Cloud services or external APIs
• Social media plugins

8. Your Rights

Because I as the developer have no access to your data, you can exercise all rights directly within the app. You are also entitled to the following legal rights under applicable data protection law:

• Access (Art. 15 GDPR): Right to information about stored data
• Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): Right to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): Right to deletion – fully achievable by uninstalling the app
• Restriction (Art. 18 GDPR): Right to restrict processing
• Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR): Data can be exported via the app's built-in CSV export
• Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): Right to object to processing

9. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. If you are in Germany, you can contact the supervisory authority of your federal state. A list of all authorities is available at the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection (BfDI).

10. Children's Privacy

Diemo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when significant changes are made to the app. The current version is always available on this page. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
